Online Instructor Training: Course Description

This course shows you how to create an online course. Starting with the syllabus and concluding with free online resources, this course offers lessons on lesson planning, facilitating online discussions, preparing a thorough syllabus and evaluating progress. The course also introduces Moodle and Voice over PowerPoint technologies. Since the Web is, by its nature, a visual medium, this course also provides you with resources for finding videos and images to use in your online course. If you are not registered with UC Irvine, you can look at the assignments, but you cannot submit them to the professor or take quizzes or tests. Any current or potential teacher of any subject may benefit from learning about how to create online courses.

This OpenCourseWare includes links to relevant course materials; downloadable course content; assignments; and written, audio, video and Voice over Power Point lecture notes. To learn and practice skills for creating an online class, go to the Training of Online Instructors course page.
