The course, 'Globalization of the Engineering and Construction Industries' OpenCourseWare, focused on the possible impacts and the implications of the transition of the engineering and construction sectors into global markets. In addition, the course looked at strategies companies use to sponsor concessions, leases granted to companies to engage in business on the host country's soil. The course specifically examined marketing, parochialism, delivery systems, globalization of the fields of construction, engineering and architecture, markets, technologies, opportunities in risk management, setting up a foreign office and barriers to locating overseas. Students of all disciplines may benefit from a greater understanding of business in the modern world, but this course was aimed primarily at Civil, Architectural and Environmental engineering students. The instructors of the original course were Professor Fred Moavenzadeh and Mr. Derish M. Wolff. The course was delivered via lectures.
