Students must complete approximately 124 credit hours to earn a bachelor's degree in Speech Therapy. Speech Therapy undergraduate students take classes such as phonetics, language development, audiology, language disorders and anatomy and physiology of speech and hearing, according to Miami University.
Course Curriculum for a Master's Degree in Speech Therapy
Most states require Speech Therapists to be licensed, which requires individuals to have a master's degree. Students must earn approximately 60 credit hours, usually in about two years, to earn a master's degree in Speech Therapy. According to New York University, students earning a master's degree in Speech Therapy must complete courses such as voice disorders, speech disorders, dysphasia, fluency problems and audiology.
Course Curriculum for a Doctoral Degree in Speech Therapy
Students earning a doctoral degree in Speech Therapy must earn approximately 64 credit hours, according to Utah State University. Doctoral students must also write a dissertation that contributes something original to the field of Speech Therapy.
