Robust System Design: Course Description

The Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at MIT in Cambridge, MA, offers this OpenCourseWare, which emphasizes evaluating new products and software to detect potential noise problems with the design. Students learn to identify the effects of noise and effective methods to enhance robust product design to avoid them. Thus, students learn to both identify problems and then correct them to make a better and more effective product. The course presents case studies in problem solving while educating students to identify and avoid common problems. Engineering professor Dr. Daniel Frey teaches this course. Students must have Microsoft Excel and MathCad 7 Professional to take this free course.

This OpenCourseWare includes a syllabus, assignments, exams, final project instructions and a full download of all the course material. Those interested in this free course should visit the Robust System Design course page.
