Introduction to Political Thought: Course Description

Professor Sarah Song takes students on a tour of the political science field in her course 'Introduction to Political Thought.' Writings from politicians and philosophers are a key part of this course. By reading and interpreting major political and social texts, this course examines political thinking on a major scale. Among the topics covered are how thinkers come to their conclusions and how they respond to their social and political circumstances. This lecture course also examines how political thinkers incorporate their views to positively affect the broader human good.

The course includes a detailed reading list, lecture notes and reading questions. To learn more about political thinking, visit the course page.
