The Massachusetts Institute of Technology is offering an OpenCourseWare project entitled 'Dynamics'. This course introduces students to Newtonian mechanics. Students build models and use Newtonian mechanics to determine the response to various forces applied to the models. Individuals interested in a Bachelor of Science in Physics, Engineering or Aeronautics and Astronautics would find this course especially applicable.

Dynamics: Course Description

In the world of physics, dynamics centers on the connection between bodies and the forces that put them in motion. Modern dynamics focuses primarily on the ideas of Issac Newton, known as Newtonian mechanics. In this course, from MIT's Aeronautics and Astronautics Department, students study Newtonian mechanics related to a particular application. Specific topics covered in this course include kinematics, inertial navigation, flight dynamics and attitude dynamics. Professor Jaume Peraire teaches this course through a series of lectures and labs.

This course includes lecture notes, labs, exams and other course assignments. To learn more about dynamic models, visit the dynamics and Newtonian mechanics course page.
