Selected Topics in Theoretical Particle Physics (Branes and Gauge Theory Dynamics): Course Description

'Selected Topics in Theoretical Particle Physics: Branes and Gauge Theory Dynamics' was originally taught in MIT's Physics Department by Professor Amihay Hanany in a lecture format. Instead of teaching the traditional world-sheet observer approach to the theory, the course approaches the problem from the viewpoint of someone living on the brane. This unorthodox approach provides new knowledge and insights on how to understand string theory in a variety of supersymmetries and dimensions. 'Selected Topics in Theoretical Particle Physics: Branes and Gauge Theory Dynamics' reflects physicists' realization that branes are critical to string theory and has open up new research on supersymmetric gauge theories dynamics and theories of quantum field on branes' world-volume in a variety of supersymmetries and dimensions.

This free online course from MIT includes access to the lecture notes and associated readings and assignments, some with solutions. If you'd like to learn more about this free graduate course, please visit the gauge and branes theory dynamics course page.
