Architectural Design Workshop (Collage - Method and Form): Course Description

The focus of this OpenCourseWare is to research and study the theory, forms and methods of collage. Students study the historical models for collage plus their physical characteristics as well as the process and psychology that goes into making collages. The course was divided into three sections by changing the methods and scales each time in order to study how decisions were made relative to the collage. The course studies the 'processes of making art' rather than 'making art'. MIT Professor Mark Jarzombek taught the original workshop-format course. This is a graduate-level course intended for students majoring in Architecture.

This course includes all class assignments and examples of student projects. If you're interested in taking this free course, then visit the form and method of collage course page.
