Qualitative Data Analysis: Course Description

Assistant Professor Katherine Fritz's course 'Qualitative Data Analysis' has been repurposed for OpenCourseWare. The Department of International Health at Bloomberg School of Public Health sponsored the course. A variety of information is included in the course: how to describe and interpret qualitative data, how to analyze data, how to determine which method to use as well as ethics and special issues involved in qualitative research. Computers are playing an increasing role in data analysis and this course introduces students to one software program called Atlas.ti. The course is lecture-based with discussion and fieldwork.
