Dixie State College of Utah in St. George presents 'Multicultural Education and ESL Education', as created by Shirley Sung Davis, Ph.D, of the Department of Elementary Education. The free OpenCourseWare teaches prospective elementary school teachers the theory behind teaching in a diverse and linguistically multicultural classroom. Teachers learn appropriate terminologies and strategies to avoid misunderstandings with students and parents. Every lesson includes an assignment that emphasizes the new material and can also be used in the classroom.
