Leadership Tools and Teams: Course Description

Taught by Professor Deborah Ancona, this lab introduces students to theories of X-teams, distributed leadership and leadership development. X-teams give structure to the innovation process and encompass three parts - exploration, exploitation and exportation in the development of a product. Students use this theoretical base to form into X-teams and create a tool for leadership development (in accordance with Sloan's leadership model) that Sloan's leadership classes can use.

Lecture notes from the first two classes are included. Assignments are described in the online syllabus. To take this free class on creating tools to improve leadership skills, go to Leadership Tools and Teams: A Product Development Lab course page.
