Leadership Development: Course Description

MIT's Engineering Systems Division trains students in management and logistics in the engineering and manufacturing environments, drawing faculty from the School of Engineering, School of Science, School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences and the Sloan School of Management. Professor Dava Newman taught the original course. The course starts out with a rope exercise for team building. The remaining six are discussions of leadership qualities, creativity, the growth of leaders, stories and examples from great leaders and the development of students' personal leadership development plans.

Lecture notes and resources for five meetings are included, along with an exhaustive reading list. Assignments are also included. To take this free class on improving your leadership skills, visit its course page.
