Game Theory and Political Theory: Course Description

The 'Game Theory and Political Theory' OpenCourseWare is designed to offer an introduction to the basics of game theory and the ways in which it relates to political issues and events. As political background, students will study the rules of legislation and electoral voting. The class also covers games of complete and incomplete information, offering examples and investigations of each. MIT Professor James Snyder teaches this undergraduate-level course. While it is not necessary for students to have a formal background in mathematics, basic probability and calculus will be used in many calculations.
