Individuals who earn a bachelor's degree in Architecture can work in government, management, development or design, according to the University of Washington. An undergraduate program in Architecture is intense, so students must be disciplined and have strong time management skills. To enroll in and complete an Architecture degree program, students must submit applications and portfolios, then take required classes and internships.

Enrolling in an Architecture Degree Program

To enroll in an undergraduate program in Architecture, prospective students must submit an application and be accepted by the college or university of their choice. A prospective student's application usually includes recommendation letters, essays, SAT scores and a high school transcript. Some undergraduate Architecture programs prefer to admit students with specific characteristics such as leadership skills, academic excellence, critical thinking skills and a commitment to learn, according to Ball State University.

In addition to submitting an application, some colleges and universities also require prospective students to send a copy of their portfolio. Completing an Architecture Degree Program

The core classes of an undergraduate degree program in Architecture focus on design, the history of architecture, structures and building technology. Students earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture must complete classes such as introduction to architecture, design drawing, world architecture, design studio, structures and construction materials, according to the University of Washington.

Most colleges and universities require undergraduate Architecture students to complete several design classes to learn critical Architecture elements such as textures, lighting, proportion and diagramming. Many design classes include a studio component, which enables students to build models and gain hands-on experience. Some bachelor's degree programs in Architecture also require students to complete an internship. An internship provides students with an opportunity to gain valuable experience and learn from professionals within their field.
