Applied Macro and International Economics: Course Specifics

This graduate-level course is lecture-based and relies primarily on case studies. 'Applied Macro and International Economics' is divided into five sections using macroeconomics, the development of economic strategies, emerging markets, transitional economies and developing countries to describe international macroeconomic trends. Economic variables including GNPs, currency exchange rates, inflation, interest rates and international trade are but a few of the topics discussed in these examinations. Professor Roberto Rigobon of MIT teaches the course. Students who participate in the course are encouraged to write a short paper on a country of their choosing, focusing on a diagnostic evaluation of that country's top economic issues.
