Agriculture (Food Safety): Course Description
Food safety is quite a hot topic in today's society, with the recent national outbreak of Salmonella linked to peanut butter. This is why the importance of food safety is key to keeping you safe. According to the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN), www.foodallergy.org, it is estimated that from 2 to 2.5% of the U.S. population have food allergies. There is no cure for food allergies. Strict elimination of the allergy-causing food is the only way of avoiding an allergic reaction. Besides food allergies, this USU course explores the importance of food storage, as well as pesticides, food additives and much more.
