Natural Science Parts I and II: Course Description

The original 'Natural Science Parts I and II' course was designed to familiarize students with the methods used to study nature from a position that all phenomena can be explained in terms of natural causes and laws. The course taught the use of the scientific method of collecting data through observation and experimentation and forming and testing hypotheses to acquire new knowledge and understanding of the natural world around us. Topics explored include motion, energy, chemical interaction, genetics and evolution, geological processes, oceans and the solar system. The original undergraduate Western Governors University's 'Natural Science' courses are general-knowledge courses that fulfill degree requirements for many majors.
