Living in a Globalised World: Course Description

'Living in a Globalised World' is an intermediate-level undergraduate course offered through the Environment, Development and International Studies Department of The Open University. This course discusses the ways globalization is affecting the world's workforce, especially in the United States and Mexico. Students can even watch a video describing the working conditions in a factory in Mexico and the affects of these conditions on the workers. The course teaches the history of globalization and the effects it has on lifestyle expectations and material wealth. Upon completion of this course, OpenCourseWare readers will understand the impact of a globalized economy on the world and the way it is shaping modern society. This course can be completed in approximately 12 hours.
