A bachelor's degree offers a core business program alongside the technical art degree, giving graduates the edge for entering the field.

Details of Computer Drafting Degrees

Certificate in Computer Drafting

A certificate in computer drafting will provide students with the necessary skills to seek entry-level computer drafting and graphic design positions in supervised engineering technology environments. Students will study the software applications that go along with technical graphic design, as well as technical writing, spreadsheet applications and physics.

Associate in Applied Science in Computer Drafting

A computer drafting associate's degree provides students with appropriate knowledge to perform professional drafting functions, like digital, accurate drawings and documenting productions for businesses. An associate's degree will present an integrated approach, giving students a knowledge of graphic theory and working knowledge of professional software applications. Upon graduation, students will be able to create 2- and 3-dimensional technological models and drawings, develop technical designs for engineering, use manufacturing and construction management applications and communicate technical information in graphic, oral and written form.

Bachelor of Science in Computer Drafting

Students earning their bachelor's degree in computer drafting will learn to bring the skills they've learned to more advanced industrial and engineering settings, like construction companies, mining companies, fabrication companies and government. Graduates with bachelor's degrees will be well positioned to move up the ladder toward becoming a team leader through the core business and liberal arts coursework a bachelor's degree requires, including management, marketing and budgeting classes. Computer drafting-related coursework includes computer applications and surveying.
