Calculus with Applications: Course Description
Professor Daniel Kleitman of MIT teaches this undergraduate calculus course for students earning bachelor's degrees in Mathematics. 'Calculus with Applications' does not refer to material from other college-level calculus courses, so students taking the course online will be sufficiently prepared if they have taken calculus in high school. The class explores topics like differential equations, integration, complex numbers and functions and 3D linear geometry. The course page contains a number of interactive tools called Java applets. These applets provide hands-on exploration of concepts in calculus, and they are useful for efficiently performing calculations and graphing data.
Materials available online for this course include Java applets, lecture notes, exercises and a glossary of calculus notations. For more information about this class, visit the applied calculus course page.
