Autonomous Robot Design Competition: Course Description

Course materials from MIT's 'Autonomous Robot Design Competition' provide students with the knowledge necessary to design, build and test a robot. Lecture notes cover the basics of robotics, such as codes and sensors, gyroscopes and coding. Workshop notes cover specific techniques, including gearboxes and electronic assemblies. A video shows robots designed by previous course-takers in action during the competition. This course is appropriate for undergraduate students with an interest in robotics and engineering. Some prior knowledge in the areas of circuitry, electronics and computation structures is encouraged. This course is taught and organized by the students themselves, so no professor is directly associated with the course.

OpenCourseWare materials include lecture and workshop notes, various study materials, suggested related resources and a video of the competition. To read more about the course or download the free materials, visit the autonomous robot design competition course page.
