Advanced Writing Seminar: Course Description

In this class, Professor Cherie Abbanat taught her students how to construct and edit documents that will be taken seriously by colleagues and superiors in the office. In addition to written communications, students in the original MIT class worked on oral presentations. Professor Abbanat showed class participants how to verbalize their point of view effectively, and today's OpenCourseWare users can benefit from her online resources. This OpenCourseWare also entails a workshop on graphics. Students will learn how to create graphics as well as how to recognize good and bad graphics. PDF notes from some course lectures are presented online.

Lecture notes, study materials, video of MIT students' oral presentations and suggested assignments are now available online for free for this course. If you would like to take advantage of this free course, visit the Advanced Writing Seminar course page.
