Advanced Corporate Risk Management: Course Description

The OpenCourseWare (OCW) offering came from the course taught by Dr. John Parsons for the Sloan School of Management at MIT. The course begins with a discussion of why risk should be managed and the organization of market risk. The student next learns about the tools and business of risk management, namely, to measure and price risk, to manage assets and liabilities and to hedge risk at the transaction and strategic levels. The course concludes with a look at the function of risk management at the accounting, governance, organization and control levels.

The course includes an extensive reading list and seven assignments without solutions. There are no lecture notes. To get an overview of risk management for the business owner or unit manager, check out the 'Advanced Corporate Risk Management' course page.
