The Supreme Court, Civil Liberties and Civil Rights: Course Description

'The Supreme Court, Civil Liberties, and Civil Rights' OpenCourseWare content comes from the lecture course taught by Professor Malick Ghachem. The original course was designed as an elective for students seeking their bachelor's degree in Political Science and took them on a tour of the biggest forum for rights in the United States. While the workings of the Supreme Court were the main focus, the court's role in defining and upholding civil liberties was a big part of the course. Professor Ghachem's course provided an introduction to civil rights and constitutional law. Students studied major Supreme Court cases and how the rulings on those cases have changed America.

The free course also offers assignment guidelines, discussion notes, an exam and external hyperlinks to Supreme Court cases and other related course material. To learn more about this OpenCourseWare, visit the Civil Rights, Liberties and the Supreme Court course page.
