Space Policy Seminar: Course Description

As is the case on planet Earth's surface, there are laws that govern activity in space. Professor Daniel E. Hastings and Professor Jeffrey Hoffman will layout the specific features of policy statements, including the intended goals and boundaries associated with creating policy. Next, this course will delve into regulations.

Students will study the customs in nations with a space program, international agreements and laws that affect the use of space systems. This course discusses national security implications considered in partnership with other nations when establishing policy. The lectures in 'Space Policy' will cover a historical perspective of establishing laws going back to the 1950's. This course is presented in lecture format.
