Solving Complex Problems: Course Description

'Solving Complex Problems' is taught by Professors Kip Hodges and Rafael Bras of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Earth, Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences Department. This course teaches students the basics of website development through team projects. Past course projects include the search for life on Mars, preservation of rain forests and strategies for coping with Tsunamis. The course helps students to develop interdisciplinary solutions that include research, public relations, budgets, timelines and benefits. The course can teach them students skills including website development, critical thinking skills and solutions to environmental problems.
