Organic Chemistry I: Course Description

The 'Organic Chemistry I' OpenCourseWare course is designed as an introduction to the principles needed to understand the architecture of organic molecules, as well as their behavior in chemical reactions. Many topics are covered, including substitution reactions, elimination reactions and aromatic compounds. Additionally, reviews of the Lewis Bonding Theory and Molecular Orbital Theory are offered during the class. This undergraduate-level course is taught by Professor Barbara Imperiali and Dr. Sarah Tabacco of MIT's Department of Chemistry.
