Introduction to Neuroanatomy: Course Description

'Introduction to Neuroanatomy' assumes no prior knowledge of brain structures. The course begins with basic vocabulary, including directions, planes of dissection and parts of brain cells. Regions of the brain are covered, as well as the functions of the sections and structures of the brain. Lectures touched on neurological diseases and the lab portion included dissecting a sheep's brain, viewing prepared slides of human brain tissue and neuroimaging anatomy. MIT Professor Chris Moore taught 'Introduction to Neuroanatomy' in a lecture and lab format. It is geared towards undergraduate students in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT.

The OpenCourseWare includes resource links, lecture topic outlines, sample exam and course handouts. To take this OpenCourseWare, visit the human neuroanatomy introduction course page.
