Special Care in Dentistry: Course Description

Commence by learning how people with mental disabilities have been treated in the past. The lecture notes indicate that an estimated 15 percent of the population suffers from some kind of disability and stress the importance for dental professionals to be able to meet their dental needs in a professional manner. Students learn about ways to encourage disease prevention in those with mental disabilities in this OpenCourseWare offered by Tufts University. Students learn how to provide the proper care for those with special needs, including home care, if it's necessary. Tufts University Professors John Morgan and Bonnie F. Zimbie lead this course about preventive and special considerations in dental care for those with special needs.
