A bachelor's degree in Cyber Security focuses on keeping information disseminated through digital technology safe and secure, according to the University of Wisconsin-Stout. At some colleges and universities that do not offer specific Cyber Security degrees, students can still earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Homeland Security with a concentration in Cyber Security. Students must fulfill math and science requirements to enroll in an undergraduate degree in Cyber Security, then complete required computer security coursework and internships to earn a Bachelor's degree.

Enrolling in a Cyber Security Bachelor's Degree Program

Students must submit an application to a college or university and be accepted before enrolling in a bachelor's degree program in Cyber Security. Most schools require students to submit high school transcripts, SAT or ACT scores, an essay and a resume with their applications, according to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Prospective students should be detail-oriented, possess high ethical standards and have good interpersonal communication skills. Several colleges and universities recommend that individuals interested in a Cyber Security program take four years of high school math and science classes, an introductory computer course and numerous English classes, according to the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Completing a Cyber Security Bachelor's Degree Program

An undergraduate degree in Cyber Security teaches students about information assurance and network administration. Many undergraduate programs in Cyber Security are multidisciplinary, which provides students with an understanding of business, computer science and security concepts. Students earning a bachelor's degree in Cyber Security complete classes such as software engineering practices, calculus, telecommunications systems, software quality assurance, computer science and network security, according to Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Since many schools offer Cyber Security as a concentration for a bachelor's degree in Homeland Security, students also complete Homeland Security courses. These courses can include introduction to homeland security, ethics, business law, risk management and investigative techniques, according to Mercy College. Some undergraduate programs also require students to complete internships during their third or fourth year in the program. An internship provides students with hands-on experience and a basic understanding of career expectations.
