Art and Technology: Course Description

'Art and Technology' is offered by the Department of Art History of Capilano University in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The class uncovers the influences of technology on the style, substance and medium of contemporaneous art. It looks at the influences of older technologies such as the printing press and the telescope as well as artistic interpretations of more modern technological innovations, such as the Internet, cyborgs and genetic engineering. The class is taught by Art History professor Sandra Seekins, BA, MA (UBC).
