The University of California College Prep (UCCP) organization offers this free online OpenCourseWare titled 'AP Physics B: Classical and Modern Physics'. AP, or Advanced Placement, courses are high-school courses geared toward students who are interested in getting a head start on their college education. This OpenCourseWare covers Newton's theories and law of motion all the way through physics theories developed since approximately 1900.

AP Physics B (Classical and Modern Physics): Course Description

The goal of 'AP Physics B: Classical and Modern Physics' is to provide students with an understanding of the principles relating to classical and modern physics and the ability to apply these principles to practical problems. The course content covers materials suggested by the College Board as essential in preparing students to pass the AP Physics B exam. Topics include Newton's laws of motion, systems of particles, gravitation, thermal physics, electricity, magnetism, waves and atomic and nuclear physics. The differences as well connections between classical and modern physics are explored with an emphasis on problem solving.

This free OpenCourseWare includes a reading list, individual lesson study guides, chapter lecture notes, interactive simulation lessons and example problems and solutions.
