Environmental Health: Course Description
Environmental health is a concern for all nations, from third-world and developing countries to the industrialized, first-world nations. The 'Environmental Health' OpenCourseWare is presented by the Environmental Health Sciences Department at Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland. Students study the variety of contaminants, how these contaminants are transported through the environment and how agents are transported to humans and mix with biological systems. Students will learn how to use predictive modeling technologies that estimate the effects of pollution on biological systems and the steps involved in assessing risk and managing risk. Course lectures will cover other topics as well, including human and environmental interactions, occupational health, environmental policy and economics and diseases caused by pollution.
