Advanced Japanese II: Course Description
The original 'Advanced Japanese II' undergraduate lecture course was designed for MIT students who are pursuing a minor in the Japanese language. Students in this course have already achieved a high degree of conversational fluency from MIT's Advanced Japanese I course. 'Advanced Japanese II' focused on preparing students to confidently handle authentic Japanese language and continue their language studies independently after the completion of college-level coursework. Students expanded their grammar and vocabulary, and worked intensively in class to hone speaking and listening skills. This course also required students to deliver a Japanese-language presentation. Professor Yoshimi Nagaya dedicated class time to conversation practice and assessments of reading and speaking skills.
This OpenCourseWare includes numerous course materials, including downloadable assignments, course readings and an extensive list of course-related resources that contains useful websites for Japanese language students of all levels.
