Technology-based Business Transformation: Course Description
Running a small business is a constant challenge, especially during the first few years. However, by implementing technological advancements and effectively marketing your business, a transformation can occur, keeping you on track and in control. Offered by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)'s School of Engineering in Cambridge, Massachusetts, this free OpenCourseWare discusses a number of ways to develop, envision, communicate and launch a business plan. Students learn the importance of implementing technology to develop innovative business ideas and solutions. Using technology for organization, marketing and strategy-development is also covered. MIT Professor Irving Wladawsky-Berger teaches this course about developing technology-based businesses and applying technology to businesses of all kinds. The course focuses on a case study surrounding IBM's e-business and Internet-based strategies of the late 1990s.
