These programs are designed to prepare students for further graduate study in speech pathology by laying a foundation in speech pathology concepts, theories and practices. Typical classes might include language and speech development, anatomy of speech and language, speech disorders, phonetics, theory and analysis of normal speech, language science and treatment of communicative disorders. Bachelor's degree programs generally include general education courses in speech communications, mathematics, natural science and social science.
Speech Pathology Online Master's Degree Course Curriculum
Online master's degree programs in speech pathology, such as a Master of Science in Speech, Language and Auditory Pathology, prepare students for careers as licensed speech pathologists. Students complete courses in language development, physiology and anatomy, phonetics, hearing science and auditory and speech disorders. Some programs offer courses focused on specific topics, such as stuttering, dysphagia, cranio-facial disorders and aphasia. Graduate students also take courses in research and data analysis.
