International Economics: Course Description

Professor Tyler Bowles starts teaching about international trade, finance and economic policy from the basic question of why nations trade internationally at all. Later lectures cover supply and demand, tariffs, quotas, subsidies, multinational diversification, currency exchange rates and many other factors. Some of the criticisms of globalization are also discussed. The syllabus names the text and study guide and suggested prerequisites. Students who have a background in basic microeconomics and macroeconomics will probably get the most benefit from taking this course.

Included in this OpenCourseWare are lectures in audio form and multiple-choice assignments. Tests are not included. Audio files are in mp3 format. To take this free course, go to the international economics course page.
