A Computer Graphic Arts bachelor's degree program can prepare the artistically inclined for a career using the latest computer design technology for marketing and advertising purposes. - Introduction to Graphic Design: Graphic design is the art of combining text and graphics for communicating an effective message and includes the design of logos, graphics, signs, newsletters, posters, brochures and any other type of visual communication.
- Color Theory: Color theory explores color mixing and the visual impact of specific color combinations. Students will study color theory's use in computer-based Graphic Arts and learn the technical skills needed to create colorful marketing material.
- Layout: Students will build strong foundations for their page layouts, explore creative applications for various page design elements and learn Graphic Art tricks for laying out and maintaining magazine articles, book jackets, calendars and websites.
- Illustration: An illustration class will teach students the basics of advertising, Graphic Arts and editorial applications using both black-and-white and color illustrations. The class begins by providing a background on elementary illustration tools and techniques such as pencil, ink, wash, marker and various water-based media.
