Computer Applications for Instruction and Training: Course Description
This free course explores training through multimedia applications. Students learn how to develop professional presentations with PowerPoint, Photoshop, GoLive, iMovie and similar applications. 'Computer Applications for Instruction and Training' introduces students to Macintosh computers and how compatible programs are used in a Macintosh environment. The course begins with an introduction to the Internet and some of the technical language associated with it. A technical survey determines if the student's computer is capable of handling the required software. The course then provides and an introduction to the Mac OS X interface and a review of key terms used throughout the course. Emphasis is placed on hands-on project development where students create their own presentations and evaluate presentations created by others. This course requires Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe GoLive and Apple iMovie. Dr. Brett Shelton teaches instructional technology at Utah State University and facilitates this OpenCourseWare.
