Quantum Theory II: Course Description

The second course in a two-part series, 'Quantum Theory II' furthers students' education in the principles of quantum theory. The course explores several advanced topics, including scattering theory, many-particle systems and time-dependent perturbation theory and applications to radiation. A background in electromagnetism theory is recommended, as well as completion of the first half of the course, the 'Quantum Theory I' OpenCourseWare. This lecture-based course is taught by MIT professor Washington Taylor. The course includes a series of homework assignments to help students reinforce the theoretical materials presented in each lecture. Homework problems will require the use of MATLAB or other programming language.

Problem sets and lecture notes are available on the course website. If you're interested in taking this free online course, visit the quantum theory II course page.
