Photojournalism Associate's Degree Program Core Courses
An associate's degree program for photojournalists is often called an Associate of Arts in Digital Photography. This degree program builds a foundation for amateur photojournalists and teaches them basic photography concepts. A master's degree program for photojournalists often falls under the larger umbrella degree program of journalism, mass communication or visual communication. Students learn how to integrate photojournalism into advertising, print media and electronic broadcasts. Students take classes in communication ethics and law, photo editing, news and feature writing, television and radio scriptwriting and advanced desktop publishing. Advanced photographic techniques, such as digital editing and graphic design, are also covered in a graduate degree program for photojournalists.
