Electromagnetic Theory: Course Description

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, www.bls.gov, electromagnetic theory is an important element of the education of most physics and astronomy professionals. MIT's course in electromagnetic theory introduces students to a variety of the fundamentals of electromagnetism, including electrostatics, electromagnetic induction, Maxwell's equation and conservation laws. The course is grounded in mathematical theory, with a focus on the physical properties of electromagnetism. In addition, students will study wave physics and their relationship to electromagnetic theory. This graduate course is taught by MIT professor Leonid Levitov as a series of lectures. In addition, students are assigned problem sets in order to reinforce the topics discussed in each lecture.

Lecture notes, problems sets and solutions are available for download on the course website. If you're interested in taking this free online course, visit the electromagnetic theory course page.
