Crime Control Technology: Course Description

The topics covered in this course center around surveillance techniques used in the name of crime prevention. The controversies surrounding the unchecked increased usage of closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras are featured prominently. Students will consider the ethics of these technologies and learn how they have been heavily implemented through the United Kingdom. They will also learn the difference between CCTV cameras used for surveillance versus those that are used for controlling crime.
