Through lecture notes and readings, students taking the 'Role of Science & Scientists in Collaborative Approaches to Environmental Policy Making' course will examine the ways in which society's interest in environmental issues can shape national policies and regulations affecting natural resources and ecosystem. MIT Professor Herman Karl argues that science is one of many factors that are considered in society decisions.
