System Optimization and Analysis for Manufacturing: Course Description
Professors Jérémie Gallien and Stephen Graves team-taught 'System Optimization and Analysis for Manufacturing' in the Sloan School of Management's Leaders for Manufacturing program. This graduate course introduced students to concrete examples of how managers identify and troubleshoot real manufacturing problems and inefficiencies. Students in 'System Optimization and Analysis for Manufacturing' also tackled these problems themselves in a series of computer-based simulations. Topics covered include linear programming, Lagrange multipliers and problems dealing with network flow. The original 'System Optimization and Analysis for Manufacturing' was a lecture course. Access to SIMUL8 and Crystal Ball is needed to complete some assignments.
'System Optimization and Analysis for Manufacturing' OpenCourseWare includes free access to the lecture notes, reading list, assignments, students' projects and the midterm exam.
