Western Rural Development: Course Description
This OpenCourseWare from Utah State University presents video recordings of several presentations from the Western Rural Poverty Research Conference. These presentations, from speakers including Ted Bradshaw and Al Nygard, discuss how poverty comes to affect communities and what can be done to help people escape poverty, using examples from the American west. The presentations include focuses on poverty in tribal and Latino communities. In addition, Katherine MacTavish leads a presentation on social inequality for trailer park residents. The videos are offered as streams or downloads, with separate downloads for the PowerPoint slides from each presentation.
