Multidisciplinary System Design Optimization: Course Description
Multidisciplinary design optimization is the creation of complicated engineering systems and subsystems that work in concert with one another. Many factors must be considered when devising a complex engineering system, including manufacturability, performance and longevity. Professor Olivier de Weck and Professor Karen Willcox will meticulously examine the product development process from start to finish.
The course begins by examining the concept phase of the system by defining the risks and rewards associated with development. Next, system modeling and simulation are engaged to predict the response of a system in different circumstances. This class will teach students to implement a full quantitative and qualitative examination of complex engineering systems. 'Multidisciplinary System Design Optimization' is presented in lecture format.
Lectures, study materials, suggested readings, labs and assignments are available online for free for this course. If you would like to take advantage of this free course, visit the Multidisciplinary System Design Optimization course page.
