Many-Body Theory for Condensed Matter Systems: Course Description
'Many-Body Theory for Condensed Matter Systems' examines the physical pictures and concepts behind a variety of phenomena that arise in many-body systems that are interacting. Major points considered are broken symmetry, methods of functional integral, theories of effective field and theory of quantum phase transition. Professor Senthil Todadri in the Physic Department of MIT taught the original course. The style of the course was lectures. A background in solid physics, classical mechanics, relativity, statistical physics or quantum physics would be useful.
Materials included with this OpenCourseWare are hand-written lecture notes (by topic), problem sets and a reading list. If you want to find out more about this exciting topic, then please visit the theory of many-body for systems of condensed matter course page.
