Building and Leading Effective Teams: Course Description

This original course was a highly experiential team-building and learning activity concerned with examining the techniques and behavior qualities that make an effective leader. Groups of students did interactive exercises, dialogued about their observations, practiced different conversational roles and attempted projects together. Since 'Building and Leading Effective Teams' is an interactive course with an emphasis on group participation, individual OpenCourseWare users may find that the course content does not translate well into the OpenCourseWare format. However, some good leadership resources and ideas are available here. MIT offered this graduate-level course to students seeking their Master of Science in Management (SM) degrees and Master's of Business Administration (MBA).

This OpenCourseWare includes lecture notes and activity outlines. To look at a dynamic leadership course, check out theteam building and leading course page.
