Introduction to Housing, Community and Economic Development: Course Description

Instructing 'Introduction to Housing, Community and Economic Development' is Prof. J. Phillip Thompson. This Urban Studies and Planning course's goal is to teach students criticisms of certain neighborhood development programs as well as the strategies of creating effective low-income housing. Topics covered in this course include the affects of race and faith-based organizations have on the development of housing, community organization, community diversity, crime prevention, urban planning and how welfare and labor factors into the success of a community.
